A fire has broken out in the Resunga community forest area of Gulmi district. A fierce fire has been raging in Resunga Forest near the Khanigaon area of Ward No. 8 of Resunga Municipality since Friday evening.
Fire in Resunga Community Forest Area
Although the local public representatives and security personnel were mobilized to control the fire, they could not bring it under control. Niranjan Kauchha, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 8 of Resunga Municipality, said that although a team with the fire brigade of Resunga Municipality arrived to control the fire on Friday evening, it could not be brought under control.
Kauchha said that they will be working for control from this morning.
The Khanigaon area of Resunga Municipal Corporation is at risk due to fire. After the onset of summer and dry season, forest fires occur. This year, the Division Forest Office, Gulmi has informed that 2 thousand 100 hectares of area have been burnt in the district.
