A female elephant (Dhoi) has been found dead in the Adarsh community forest area of Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-3 Charchabari of Jhapa.
This morning, local residents informed the police after seeing the dead elephant. Tirtha Timsina, a local resident, informed that teams from Division Forest Office Jhapa, District Police Office, Area Police Office, and Armed Police had reached the spot.
There is no electric fence where the elephant was found dead. The cause of the elephant’s death is being investigated. The local residents have also offered prayers on the dead elephant.
In the current fiscal year, two elephants have died in Jhapa and five people have died due to elephant attacks, according to the Division Forest Office.
